i have been meaning to post this picture for a while and i'm glad that i finally found some time to do it.



past few years i have been involved with several charity events and fund raisers where i have donated my art, toy or prints to help out the cause.
i don't mind donating my work to a good cause and i'm glad that my art could provide something positive out into the world.

and receiving this image from cardboard spaceship in my email made me so happy to know that my art was able to change the world in a small scale. this specific charity event was to help out the single mothers and children in south africa to provide them with proper food and diet.

a lesson from takimoto sensei

thanks to my girl friend emi.

i had a chance to attend wood carving (kikezuri) class few weeks ago.
the class was hosted by mr takimoto who is a master japanese woodcarver, he emphasized on letting wood speak for itself and it was interesting to keep my hands moving without really thinking the end result. it was a perfect way to spend a nice sunday afternoon.

last week i had a chance to hang out with a good friend of mine.
i have known him for over a decade,and he is one of my very first collector:)

i saw this old piece hanging at his house and had to snap a photo of it.

i received an e-mail from one of my fan, mike in uk.

he dedicated his right arm to be covered by my work.

the e-mail mentioned that there are going to be more work for the back ground and empty spaces.

he has already sped 30 hours on his inks. i feel very honored:)

ボクが１７の頃に真ん中の兄ちゃんがGOING　STEADYを教えてくれました。

切ないくらいに真っすぐな歌詞と声が枯れながらも叫び続けるボーカル。

本当にボクの青い心にじんと優しく響いたのを覚えています。

そして１０年ちょい経った今、また彼らの音が聞きたくなりました。

ここ何日かこの曲がばかり聞いてます。

青い春よもう一度ボクの心をトキメカセて下さい：）

children of nova x yoskay:)

my friend's band, children of nova is gong on their first major nation tour.and i was asked to design their tour t-shirt. recently the band received the best hard rock category in san diego music awards. also so one of their song "complexity of light" is featured in the game rock band, and it's in top 25 in the rock band network:)

one of my favorite author j.d. salinger passed away this week.....
catcher in the rye was my very first english novel that i read and i remember the sense of the accomplishment that i got afterwards.
so the book has a sentimental attachment to me and i still cherish it very much.

a visit from daily dujour

my friend jack from daily dujour came by to visit my studio last week.
i was working on the last piece for my upcoming solo exhibition "hello and goodbye."
i originally thought the piece was 8ft wide but i found out it was 9ft when i took it to the framer....

anyways there are some photos of my studio and some photo of the giant piece...
i hope you all can make it on the 9th of may to see the finish product....
